Women, Tell Your Story About Osteoporosis
This entry was posted on 1/25/2008 6:25 PM and is filed under Osteoporosis Story.
A writer from a national women's magazine is
looking for women to interview who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis.
She would like to find out how they discovered their osteoporosis, what
medications they might be on and any other strategies they use in their
day-to-day lives to cope with the disease.
If you are female, in your
50s or late 40s and are interested in being interviewed, please contact I.
Davidson by Email at Davidson787@gmail.com for more
information. Thank you.

I am a 48 year old woman with Osteopenia in my hips and spine (and possibly other places that I do not know about). I was diagnosed around the age of 40. I have always been thin, but have been exercising since I was 19. I eat healthy, do not drink excessively, do not smoke, take supplements, yet my bone mass continues to decline, especially in my spine. Osteoporosis does not run in my family that I know of. And I am not in menopause yet. What I am wondering is what is the best type of weight training for this condition? Dumbbells / Barbells (free weights)? I like free weights but I'm concerned that I can't hold heavy enough weights in my hands. Bowflex? What about a Power Plate? I feel like I need to kick my weight training up a notch and want to invest in the right equipment and not waste money! What exercises are best to strengthen the hip and spine? I would love to hear from anyone that has information! Thank you!! Reply to this
